What information we collect
We only collect what we actually need to run FIOH. Here's what that looks like:
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, and phone number when you reach out to us through the website.
- Uploader email — the email address you provide when using the FIOH photo uploader.
- Photos you upload — images submitted through the uploader so they can appear on the installation's sculptural heart display.
- Payment information — if a transaction is involved, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
How we use it
We use your information only to do what FIOH is here for:
- To respond to your inquiries and questions.
- To operate the installation — displaying tributes on the heart, moderating uploaded content, and keeping the experience running smoothly.
- To process payments through Stripe when applicable.
- To send you occasional updates from the artist, if you've opted in to that.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't build profiles on you.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded photos are deleted within 24 hours of display, unless a photo has been specifically flagged as a permanent bank image for the installation.
- Contact form data is kept only as long as needed to respond to your message — after that, it's gone.
- Payment records are retained by Stripe according to their own policies, which you can review at stripe.com.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the service providers who help us run the installation. We do not sell your data — ever.
- Supabase — database hosting and file storage.
- Stripe — secure payment processing.
- Anthropic and Google Vision — AI-assisted content moderation to help ensure uploaded photos are appropriate.
- Photoroom / Cloudinary — image processing for display on the installation.
Each of these providers has their own privacy practices and security standards. We only share what they need to do their job.
Your rights
You have the right to request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Just send us an email at fiohmemorial@gmail.com and we'll take care of it promptly.
